 CELLCAST ALERTS BRINGS CELL PHONE, E-MAIL AND TELEPHONE EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION TO MISSOURI
Missouri citizens will soon receive emergency notification by cell phone, e-mail or telephone. CellCast Technologies will install CellCast Alerts software throughout Missouri beginning with Camden County’s Sheriff Office. This technology allows emergency management and law enforcement agencies to notify citizens of impending danger so they can begin taking safety precautions.
CellCast Alerts is a Web-based alert system allowing registered citizens to be directly contacted during emergency situations through cellular text messaging, e-mail and landline telephone. Messages may include alerts and information about emergencies such as traffic, school information, criminal information, floods, chemical spills, major fires, acts of terrorism and weather related emergencies.
“Knowing about the impending danger is one thing, but then also having the correct information about what to do in your specific area can be lifesaving” said Camden County Sheriff John Page. “We want to keep the citizens we serve as safe as possible and with CellCast Alerts, we do just that.”
“Today’s society is increasingly mobile, and those entrusted with the public’s safety must follow the trend,” said Paul Klein, chief operating officer of CellCast Technologies. “CellCast Alerts allows them to keep up with the trends and prepares them for the nest generation of alert through cell broadcasting when it becomes available.”
In order for the CellCast Alerts system to operate efficiently, Missouri residents must register online at http://www.cellcastalerts-mo.com Users may choose which alerts they wish to receive. Users may also designate the method in which they wish to be alerted. Both methods and type of alerts can be changed online at anytime through the user’s profile.
According to Page, CellCast Alerts will not work without the support of the public becoming registered users. Page urges citizens to register and encourage their families, friends and neighbors to register as well.
