Mission: To provide state of the art comprehensive care for adult patients with cardiovascular disease provided in a friendly, comfortable environment that is uniquely patient focused and individually tailored.

Procedures that Dr. McDermott, M.D. performs:

• Electrocardiogram-takes an electrical picture of the heart in approx. 5 minutes time.
• Echocardiogram-obtains an ultrasound picture or sonar of the beating heart.
• Holter monitor-continuous heart recording device which is worn at home. Provides information about heart rhythm & rate.
• Event recorder-provides intermittent recording of the heart rythm & heart rate as directed by the patient. 30 day period.
• Stress Test-patient will walk on treadmill while attached to an ECG recording machine.
• Nuclear cardiology testing-performed in conjunction with either an exercise or pharmacologic stress test.
• Pacemaker, implant-Surgically places a device placed in the chest that stimulates the heart rate to speed up whenever necessary & prevents slowing of the heart beat.
• Implants Cardioverter Defibrillator-Surgically implants a device that has the capabilities of a pacemaker but in addition is capable of providing an electrical shock to the heart if the heart were to go out of rhythum.
• Heart Catheterization-test that allows him to accurately diagnose coronary artery disease and many other heart disorders.
• Angioplasty & Stent-
• Peripheral Vascular Procedures

We generally participate in all of the insurance plans utilized by Lake Regional Medical Center including Medicare Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Missouri.
